CCSD will provide breakfast and lunch to students:

Beginning Monday, March 16. School food distribution pods will be set up at 15 school locations across the valley from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The locations are listed below:

Aloha Kitchen Bar:

Aloha Kitchen and Bar is offering free chicken teriyaki bowls to kids between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. through April 3.

Griddlecakes/Stacks & Yolks:

Beginning Monday, March 16, the Griddlecakes and Stacks and Yolks locations will offer a breakfast meal for kids Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those children in need of a meal will receive a kid’s pancakes, eggs and home fries.

YMCA Free Food Sites:

The YMCA of Southern Nevada will continue to operate as a Three Square Open Meal site at the Heinrich Y, Durango Hills Y and SkyView Y, starting Tuesday, March 17.

These sites will be open Monday through Saturday, from approximately 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Ages 18 and under are welcome to a free meal. Individuals do not have to be YMCA members to participate. This will be a “grab-and-go” method where staff will meet participants at each facility’s front door.

The Stove:

Henderson eatery The Stove is slated to launch a temporary pop-up market for those in need on March 17. It will prioritize senior guests.

Several food and other essential items will be available, including:

Local farm fresh milk, Local farm fresh eggs, Toilet paper, Fettuccine, Instant oatmeal, Canned chicken broth, Chicken soup, Tomato soup, Gatorade, Half & half, Hand sanitizer

The pop-up will be located inside the establishment’s private dining room, and availability is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Hours are 8 a.m.-3 p.m. or when stock runs out, seven days a week.

Dollar General:

Dollar General Stores are opening their doors from 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. for only customers 60 and older. This policy change went into effect March 17. Shoppers will be allowed to use a designated entrance starting March 19.

The Just One Project:

Call Monday through Friday to speak to one of the Just One Project’s friendly staff members. This food assistance is available to all people, of all ages, if you are unable to pick up feel free to send a friend.

Project 150:

Food and hygiene products for high school students. Their Education and Empowerment Center is also open to students to utilize FREE workshops while away from the classroom.

Las Vegas Diaper Bank:

Walk-ins accepted Monday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Parents/guardian will need to bring the following documents: Child’s name/Date of Birth or Proof of parenthood/guardianship. Parents will receive 50 diapers and 25 pull-ups. Parents can get diapers once every 30 days.

Three Square Food Bank:

Three Square has collaborated with select agency partners and volunteer located in regions throughout the valley who will be assisting with distribution of food at 43 emergency food distribution sites.

21 CCSD School Sites (in addition to the 15 sites CCSD confirmed that will serve breakfast and lunch); 3 Station Casinos properties, including Palace Station, Sunset Station and Boulder Station; 10 Just One Project LDS Church sites; and nine of Three Square’s local agency partners.

Those 60 years of age and older who need food assistance are encouraged to call Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5pm, where they can speak with an advocate to determine which program, service or resource is best for them.

Carson City

Food distribution times and sites have been confirmed for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Locations: Empire, Mark Twain and Seeliger Elementary Schools and Carson High School.

Douglas County

Meals begin Tuesday March 17

Locations: C.C. Meneley Elementary and Aspire Academy High Schools.

Lyon County

Meals began to be delivered through the bus route from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. as of Monday

Nye County School District

Has 2 options starting Wednesday, March 18.

Option 1: Walk up meals 10-11 a.m. provided at Round Mountain, Gabbs Elementary, Tonopah Elementary, and Tonopah Middle and High Schools.

Option 2: Bus Routes will be operating their normal route with meals staring at 10 a.m.

Assistance League:

In addition to a food pantry, they offer cleaning supplies, school clothing for kids, snacks and other low income programs in Washoe County

Call the Salvation Army for referrals, access to a food pantry, and information on government assistance programs. There many also be financial aid to pay rent or bills.

Diapers – Catholic Charities Northern Nevada:

Walk-ins accepted: Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., closed (12 p.m. – 1 p.m.). Typically, families will receive 10-12 diapers unless more is needed. Parents can receive diapers and wipes every two weeks.

Diapers – Pershing Family Resource Center:

Walk- ins accepted: Tuesday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Parents/guardians will need to complete a welcome form and present identification. Provides (1) 20 qty. diaper package. Parents can receive diapers every three months.
