NV Foster Care

Inspired by Children.  Committed to Families.  Defined by Love.

On any given day, there are more than 3,000 children involved in the foster care system. The ultimate goal of the Department of Family Services is to help our children reunite with their families. This is where we need you! We need loving foster parents to provide temporary care and stability for our children. However, we know that not everyone can become a foster parent. That is okay, we have other ways you can help. Whether that is donating to Peggy’s Attic, becoming a CASA or just raising awareness, there are ways you can make a difference. So…what are you waiting for? It’s time to say Count Me In!

What is foster care?

Foster parenting is about believing and investing in the future of a child and their biological family. Our foster and adoptive program is designed to provide temporary care of children who are unable to reside with their biological families. Children in foster care need strong and supportive caretakers who are willing to work with their biological families and the Department of Family Services to reunify them with their families.

To learn more about Clark County’s foster care program, we invite you to attend one of our foster care Information Sessions.   The information session is designed to provide you with what you need to know to assist you in making an informed decision about becoming a foster parent.  Additionally, upon your request we’ll gladly mail to you an information booklet that provides an overview of the County’s foster care program.

If you are interested in becoming a licensed foster parent, the first step is to attend one of the free information sessions. There are many different options for your convenience.  There is no need to RSVP, just show up!

At this time all Information Sessions are conducted in English. If you will need an interpreter please contact the interpreter line at 702-671-4578.
